Gynecologic Cancer and Gynecology Oncology Program
Services Offered
The Gynecologic Oncology program provides comprehensive care for women with known or suspected cancers of the female genital tract (vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tube, ovary). We offer a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic options. Our board-certified gynecologic oncologists and surgeons lead a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care, from initial consultation through treatment and into survivorship.
For patients needing surgery, our surgeons have extensive experience in complex gynecologic procedures including DaVinci robotic surgery, sentinel node mapping, tumor debulking, and comprehensive staging. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are offered at convenient outpatient locations at the Upstate Cancer Center.
Patients have access to genetic counseling and the latest developments in therapy, including the opportunity to join clinical trials through our participation in the National Cancer Institute's NRG Oncology cooperative trial group, as well as the Gynecologic Oncology Group.
Our comprehensive approach includes exceptional nursing support for inpatients and outpatients, as well as access to a full range of supportive services, including nutritional and psychological counseling.
